ORFC 2027 7 – 8 Jan
Imagine having words that capture our deep and mysterious relationship with the land, or our sense of communion with the more-than-human world. Not borrowed words from indigenous languages, but simple, beautiful words as rooted in this land as the great oaks themselves – words that lie slumbering in the bone languages of the English tongue. Naming an experience validates it and brings it into our shared culture so it can be discussed, witnessed, and embraced. To reconnect humanity with all life, we need nouns and verbs to pave the pathways from the margins to the centre of modern culture. In this interactive session, Angharad Wynne and Jon Young will discuss the work ahead and invite your insights, as part of a consultation to create a more connected world through words. This session is dedicated to the memory of our dear friend and fellow word-smith, Manchán Magan.
