We’re committed to making changes to improve your experience and enable you to gather together with the agroecology movement with ease, accessibility and joy. ORFC is always evolving, so we wanted to let you know about some changes we’re making this year!
Join us at the Catholic Chaplaincy!
This year, registration will be held at the Catholic Chaplaincy, so come along to receive a warm welcome and pick up your badge, programme, map and more. The Catholic Chaplaincy promises to be buzzing with ORFC activity: we’ll also be holding fabulous workshops, book signings and bookshop activities, and dinner, drinks and dancing here. We can’t wait to invite you in for fun, discussion and connection at this beautiful venue!
Our Speakers Hall!
We’ll still be gathering at the Oxford Town Hall or the plenaries, but also for fantastic main stage sessions on the most urgent topics, and to meet our fabulous exhibitors – the charities, funders, organisations at the heart of the movement. If you are ever not sure about which session to go to, come here for some of the most pressing and practical questions of the day.
Bringing in Listening to the Land
In previous years, we’ve held a Listening to the Land day prior to the conference. This year, we won’t be holding a separate Listening the Land day but instead we’re welcoming in an incredible Listening to the Land Programme – including performances, ceremonies and an abundant evening feast – all as part of the main ORFC event across Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January. Keep an eye out for updates on the Listening to the Land Feast – more to come soon!
Saying goodbye to the Story Museum…. but only for daytime sessions!
This year, catch your favourite sessions on justice and international solidarity across our other core conference venues: look out for the amazing programming at Wesley Memorial Church and St Columba’s. We’ll still be gathering at the magical Whispering Wood and The Woodshed venues at the Story Museum for exciting evening events. We’re also delighted to be using the Story Museum for childcare again: the Crèche will be available to book, offering a playful and creative environment for children to explore stories and imagination through games, crafts and storytelling with the Story Museum’s Learning Team.
Look forward to more livestreamed sessions
We’re delighted that we’ll be providing an increase in the number of livestreamed sessions for online and in-person delegates to watch – and watch back! This year, we’ll be livestreaming over 50 sessions on inspiring and diverse topics from land justice and reciprocity with nature, to geopolitics, farm practise and beyond.
Live updates on sessions in real time
We’re sneaking this one in towards the end here, but this is a pretty big update: for the first time ever, you will be able to get live updates on sessions as they fill up directly to your phone. That way, when you’re wondering whether there’s time to grab a coffee or catch up with a friend before heading over to your next session, you’ll be able to take out the guess work. We’ll be sharing more about this exciting development soon.
Reliving the ORFC magic!
There’s no better way to beat the post-conference blues than by looking forward to watching back some of the great livestreamed content! Delegates will, as ever, be able to watch livestreamed recordings of sessions online. We are also rethinking how we release content from the conference to the public, and produce high quality and accessible podcast and YouTube content. Watch this space!
