ORFC 2026 8 – 9 Jan
In this session, we will share our 10-year journey growing tea on Dartmoor, highlighting our successes and challenges as new entrant farmers. We now care for over 7,000 Camellia sinensis plants, producing green, black, oolong and white teas, while propagating 2,000 seedlings annually with a vision to create a genetically diverse, locally adapted landrace variety. Attendees will learn about the viability and joy of tea growing in the UK and be inspired to incorporate tea plants into diverse growing systems. We also hope our unique experience can illuminate how local tea production can enhance climate resilience, diversify UK agriculture, support local economies and enrich cultural diversity.
