ORFC 2026 8 – 9 Jan
In order to address the climate and nature crises, we need to make better use of our land, and the agricultural sector has a major role to play. Making the best use of our land requires informed decision-making around the trade-offs, benefits and economic viability of different land uses in the context of wider UK landscapes. This session will explore how our land use needs to change; look at on-farm practical implications; and explore how best decisions can be supported. Following an overview of new science exploring trade-offs in land use, we’ll hear on-farm experiences from three speakers, covering topics like agroforestry, organic and Maximum Sustainable Output. A resource kit will be developed following the participatory discussion, and shared after ORFC.
