In this keynote address, Jennifer Clapp unpacks the forces driving corporate dominance in the agricultural inputs industry and why it matters for society and the environment. Drawing on her new book, Titans of Industrial Agriculture, she traces the deep historical roots of corporate control and shows how dominant firms have shaped industrial agriculture in ways that have constrained farmer agency and undermined sustainability for over a century. Through this lens, Clapp highlights the urgent challenges facing today’s food systems and offers lessons for building a more just, resilient, and sustainable future.
