Role descriptions

All volunteers must participate in an online orientation in advance of the conference. In addition to providing training, ORFC will have tech and volunteer support available and a detailed reference guide to support volunteers throughout the event.

Session Support

ORFC 2023 will include sessions, workshops and meetings in Crowdcast, Streamyard and Zoom. Sessions will be in meeting or webinar format. Session support volunteers will remain through the session to support the speakers and chair with tracking questions from the audience and to help participants feel welcome and included. This may include, for example, flagging tech difficulties with ORFC tech support, aggregating questions from the chat for the chair and speakers, and monitoring the chat to offer information where appropriate.

Session support volunteers will need a desktop or laptop computer with a good internet connection.

Social Media Volunteers

As part of our communications team, social media volunteers will help with drafting tweets, Facebook and Instagram posts, and/or blog posts throughout the conference.
