Wicked Leeks magazine was launched to connect the realities of food and farming businesses, with the experience of eating and enjoying good, seasonal food. We believe both are connected and are an enjoyable and important part of understanding and being part of the world around us.
Distributed weekly via an email newsletter, Wicked Leeks also goes into print four times a year. Its mission is to inform and inspire positive change, with a mixture of editorially-led news, views, interviews and ethical lifestyle tips.
High-profile interviews and columnists in the past year have included Lucy Siegle, Yotam Ottolenghi, Satish Kumar, George Monbiot and Melissa Thompson. A small but active pool of freelance journalists report for the features section, which has investigated issues such as labelling of meat, the effect of Covid on various aspects of food, palm oil and GM food.
The twin crises of climate change and biodiversity declines have never been more evident, and we urgently need to transition our society in response. We recognise our readers are some of the biggest advocates of sustainable living, and while our journalism is and will remain free to all, you can help spread the word by sharing articles with family, friends or on social media, if they have particularly resonated with you. We believe that knowledge of how an alternative and better world is possible can help make it a reality.
