Companion cropping

Chair: Jonty Brunyee (PFLA) Speakers: Andrew Howard (Nuffield Scholar and farmer), Ian Wilkinson (Cotswold Seeds)

Companion cropping and intercropping has the potential to increase crop yields by up to 30% whilst allowing for a reduction in farm inputs. There is no blueprint for success since the crop selection will depend upon individual farm characteristics and there is limited research since there are few commercial inputs involved. Two farmers will share their experience with arable and pasture species.
